In 2006, I suffered a very rare medical emergency that caused me to be admitted to a hospital for a very long time. While I was in the ICU, I witnessed my wife’s strong faith move mountains, and remarkably recovered enough to go home because of it.
The next several months of my recovery were very trying. I slowly began to realize that by God’s mercy, He had spared my life. With God’s grace, love, and the help of my wife, I relearned to walk, write, and take care of myself.
The person that I once was died in that hospital, and I was reborn when the Holy Spirit came to dwell within me. I realized God has a plan for my life and that it is to witness to others and honor Him in all I do.
To glorify God for all that he had brought me through, I started making crosses to give to those who are celebrating or commemorating life’s special moments. To a Christian, the cross is a daily reminder of the life of Jesus Christ- his time on Earth, his resurrection, and ultimately his sacrifice for the forgiveness of our sins so that we might have eternal life with Him in Heaven. As God has blessed me, I hope my crosses bless those with their new life with Christ.
